The next morning Ron and Harry discuss the meeting with the three-head-dog, but Neville and Hermione want to forget that event. One week later Harry gets his first broomstick - a Nimbus 2000. He shows it to Ron, who is completely excited about it. The first Quidditch training is close, where Harry gets to know the other team members and learns the rules of the game.
Time passes by and two months later it is Halloween. At that day the Great Hall is decorated with thousands of bats and pumpkins. During the feast Professor Quirrel scares everyone because he reports of a troll in the dungeons. The students are led by their prefects back to each their common rooms but Harry and Ron go to Hermione, who does not know anything about the troll and weeps at the girls′ toilet. She is sad because Ron called her a nightmare earlier that day. The boys find her but the troll is not longer in the dungeons but up in the girls′ toilet as well. In a brave fight Ron finally beats the troll. But there is no elation about victory, because Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape and Professor Quirrel find them. Hermione lies to Professor McGonagall and so they get away with it without any punishment. From this moment on Hermione, Ron and Harry are best friends.
