To get a book in which the Polyjuice Potion is described, Hermione uses Lockhart′s improvidence, because she needs a teacher′s signature for the restricted department in the library.
When they have the book in their hands, they diced to hide in the girls′ toilet on the third floor. Thanks to Moaning Myrtle who lives there they are undisturbed. Reading the methods for the first time Hermione notices that it is a complex potion, which will need one month to be finished. They even have to steel some ingredients from Prof. Snape.
On Saturday, the match Gryffindor against Slytherin takes place and Harry′s problem is not to find the Golden Snitch, but to get away from a cursed Bludger. In spite of the evasive actions which Harry does flying, he spots the Golden Snitch behind Slytherin′s new seeker Draco and races purposefully towards it. But a Bludger hits his elbow and breaks his arm. Nevertheless Harry ignores the pain and catches the tiny Golden Snitch.
After he has landed on the lawn, he faints because of pain and exhaustion and is powerless against Lockhart′s attempts to heal him. Harry is not cured, because Lockhart only conjures away all bones from his arm and Harry has to go to the hospital wing.
At night Dobby visits Harry and confesses, that he closed the barrier to Platform 9 3/4 and bewitched the Bludger.
He explains to Harry that House-elves like him are their masters′ slaves and can only be freed when they are given clothing. He also says, that the Chamber of Secrets had been opened before and really does exist. But he cannot finish speaking, because suddenly Prof. Dumbledore and Prof. McGonagall come to the hospital wing with another Petrified victim.
