Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Chapter 14 - Cornelius Fudge
The three friends do not believe that Hagrid is responsible for those events. For a month everything remains quiet, but than someone searches Harry′s stuff in the Gryffindor tower and steals the diary. In addition Harry hears the strange voice again. That brings Hermione to an idea and she walks straight to the library without losing any word.
A little bit later Prof. McGonagall says that Hermione and a Ravenclaw prefect have been found close to the library - Petrified. Apparently they had been looking into a small mirror.
From now on no activites outside the building are allowed and no pupil is allowed to walk through the castle without company of a teacher. Harry and Ron ignore this commandment and use the Invisibility Cloak to sneak down to Hagrid′s cabin.
But before they can ask him about the Chamber, Prof. Dumbledore stands in front of Hagrid′s door with the Minister of Magic. Because Harry and Ron sit under the Invisibility Cloak, they are unseen but can overhear everything. The Minister of Magic wants to send Hagrid to Azkaban, because he thinks that Hagrid is guilty. Prof. Dumbledore instead trusts Hagrid that he has not done anything.
Lucius Malfoy turns up and gives an order to the headmaster signed by the Governors of Hogwarts calling for his dismissal. Before they leave, Prof. Dumbledore says that everyone will get help who ask for it, and finally Hagrid says, that someone has to follow the spiders in order to find out the truth. Harry and Ron remain in the cabin confused.
