Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Chapter 4 - At Flourish and Blotts
At the moment the letters from the school arrive at The Burrow the Weasleys and Harry take their way to Diagon Alley. They travel through the chimney with the help of floo powder. But Harry hasn′t any experience with travelling by floo powder; for this reason it comes to an unforeseen incident. Harry mumbles the place where he wants to go to and so he doesn′t find his way to Diagon Alley but to Knockturn Alley. In the store, in which Harry ends up, he unexpectedly meets Draco and his father and catches an interesting conversation between the Malfoys and Mr. Borgin, the owner of the store. Fortunately Harry remains unnoticed and he escapes unseen from the store. Outside in the street Harry meets Hagrid who takes him to Diagon Alley where the Weasleys and Hermione are already waiting impatiently.
At Flourish & Blotts, the bookstore at Diagon Alley, the Weasleys and Hermione meet their new teacher Gilderoy Lockhart. Mr. Lockhart wants to sign his own books, which the pupils have to use in the upcoming semester. The moment he realises that Harry Potter stands within the crowd, Harry is asked to come forward. Mr. Lockhart plays him and Harry perfectly to scene which finally takes the attention of Mr. Malfoy. At the end of the shopping there is a little disagreement between the Malfoys and the Weasleys including Hermione and Harry. Mr Malfoy looks at the used books, which Ginny is carrying in her kettle. He disgustedly puts them back into the kettle.
At the end of the day the Weasleys and Harry return to The Burrow, again by floo powder, this time without any trouble.
