Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Chapter 8 - The deathday party
Within the month of October Harry meets the Gryffindor ghost who is looking quite sadly. Harry gets to know that Nearly Headless Nick has been rejected the Headless Hunt, because there are two centimetres missing to make him "really headless".
Shortly afterwards Harry, who is covered with mud after the Quidditch practice, is caught by Mr. Filch. He wants to punish him for "befouling the castle" and takes him to his office.
A loud noise caused by Peeves makes Filch leave the room and so Harry has the chance to look around a little closer and gets a glance of a book that proves that Mr. Filch is a Squib. Mr. Filch returns and notices, that Harry is aware of his secret and so he lets Harry go.
Afterwards Harry meets Nearly Headless Nick again, who invites him to his deathday party and Harry accepts. However, he regrets it, when he sees, how much fun the other pupils have Halloween evening.
Nevertheless Harry keeps his promise and goes to the party together with Ron and Hermione. When they are on their way back to the Great Hall, Harry hears the strange voice again. They follow the voice and make a horrible discovery. Someone wrote on a wall that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened by the Heir of Slytherin and the enemies are supposed to be aware. Underneath the writing there hangs the petrified cat of Mr. Filch. In the meantime the Halloween party ends and the pupils walk back through the corridors. They meet Harry, Ron and Hermione and see the writing on the wall. Draco tries to threaten Hermione by saying that she will be next, as she is a dirty mudblood.
