Hermione shows Harry and Ron a letter from Hagrid, which informs them about the result of the hearing. Buckbeak is threatened with execution and Hermione slaps Malfoy because of his responsibility for this outcome. Luckily for him Ron is able to stop Hermione from further action.
In divination the students busy themselves with crystal-gazing. When Professor Trelawney predicts Harry’s death once again, Hermione makes a derogatory comment and quits Divination lessons once and for all.
With the final game of Quidditch drawing nearer Harry is bullied by Slytherins on every occasion. Perhaps just for this reason the Gryffindor players are received with approval by all the other houses except for Slytherin on the day of the game. The game itself is very hard and unfair, but Harry catches the snitch before Draco and wins the Quidditch cup for Gryffindor.
