Harry wakes up in the hospital wing and from Madam Pomfrey he learns that Sirius was taken into custody and is going to suffer a Dementor�s kiss. When Professor Dumbledore appears at his bedside and sends everybody except Harry, Ron and Hermione out of the room, Harry and Hermione let their feelings run unchecked and tell him everything they have learned in the previous hours. Professor Dumbledore believes them, but unfortunately he cannot really help them either. He suggests to Hermione that they could use the Time-Turner to remedy the situation. This explains how she has been able to travel back in time and take so many courses at once. Harry and Hermione make a trip three hours into the past, where they first go to Hagrid�s hut and rescue Buckbeak from the execution. Then they have to wait for the correct moment to rescue Sirius. When he comes to the lake Harry realises that it had not been his father who conjured the Patronus, as he first thought, but rather he himself, and so he rescues Sirius from the Dementor�s kiss. They bring Buckbeak to Sirius, allowing them both to escape from Hogwarts.
