The next morning Hermione decides to cancel her hunger strike. Harry cannot think about Hedwig, who has not come back yet, for a long time because the lesson begins. In the lesson Care of Magical Creatures they get to know the Blast-Ended Skrewts and they are not glad about this. After the lesson they get an article about Ron′s dad from Malfoy. As an argument between Harry and Malfoy bursts, Malfoy tries to place a curse on Harry but Moody interferes and transforms Malfoy into a ferret. But Professor McGonagall ends this directly, because metamorphoses are forbidden as punishment in Hogwarts. Later, Harry, Ron and Hermione hear that the other pupils like Moody, too.
