In the morning, Professor McGonagall hands out the timetables and Ron is horrified when he discovers that they have History of Magic, double Potions, Divination and double Defence Against the Dark Arts on Mondays. Hermione argues with Fred and George, because they advertise to find test persons for their joke products in the Gryffindor common room. In History of Magic everybody is bored and Hermione threatens Ron and Harry with not allowing them to copy her script any more. In Potions, Snape lets the students brew the Draught of Peace and exposes Harry, because he forgot an ingredient. Stressed because of Snape, Harry takes it out on Ron and Hermione and goes off alone to Divination. Trelawney lets the students interpret their dreams. In Defence Against the Dark Arts everybody is outraged that Umbridge won’t let them do magic but will only teach the theory. Harry gets cross and as he maintains that Lord Voldemort is back, he gets a week of detention and is sent to McGonagall who warns him against Umbridge and says that he should take care.
