The next day the Daily Prophet reports that Dolores Umbridge is appointed from the Ministry of Magic to Hogwarts High Inquisitor. She is authorized to observe all teachers. Harry, Ron and Hermione are horrified, but also anxious to see the inspection. Examining Trelawney’s lesson, Umbridge keeps walking around and taking notes on her clip, thus making Trelawney very nervous. In Defence Against the Dark Arts they have to read, but Hermione announces, that she has already read everything and contradicts a statement from the book. Harry gets furious, when Umbridge says that Quirrel was a good teacher. As a result he gets another week-long detention. The next day Umbridge examines McGonagall’s lesson, who shows her plainly, that she doesn’t put up with this. Umbridge shows up in Care of Magical Creatures with Professor Grubbly-Plank too and Harry manages to get another hour of detention. As Harry returns, Hermione suggests that Harry teach them practical Defence Against the Dark Arts. Harry get angry and shouts at her and Ron, until Hermione manages to cool him down and asks him to just think about the idea.
