Kreacher, who had been away for a while, appears in the attic. Harry has a bad feeling about this, as Kreacher is in a better mood than ever.
The return to Hogwarts comes nearer and Sirius gets sadder and sadder. When Harry hears that he will be taught by Prof. Snape in Occlumency, he wishes more and more that he could stay with Sirius. When he leaves, Harry gets a little package from Sirius with the hint, that whenever Harry wants to tell him that he is treated badly by Snape, he could use this present.
Back in Hogwarts the first lesson in Occlumency does not work out very well, but Harry finds out that the corridor he dreams about, is the corridor to the Department of Mysteries. Hermione, Ron and Harry gather from this new information that Voldemort wants something from there. Harry has an early night. He is fast asleep as he hears mad laughter until the moment he is woken by Ron. In the next few seconds, Harry realises that the laughter is his. He knows at this very moment, that Lord Voldemort feels very happy and that Harry feels it too.
