After Fred and George have escaped to freedom, they become something like legends. There are many pupils copying them, so the teachers and Filch have a lot to deal with.
Furthermore the final Qudditch game of the season, Gryffindor against Ravenclaw, draws nearer. It finally takes place on the last weekend in May. Harry and Hermione sit with the other spectators, and they have to face the fact, that one ball after the other passes Ron and flies through the goal hoops. It isn′t looking good, when Hagrid appears behind Harry and Hermione and asks them to come with him, anxious to be as inconspicuous as possible. He leads them deep into the Forbidden Forest, directly to Grawp, his half-brother. Hermione and Harry discover with horror, that Hagrid has all his wounds because of him and that he is the reason why Hagrid often disappears for weeks.
He asks them to look after Grawp, since Hagrid is afraid that he will have to leave the school because of Prof. Umbridge. They finally agree under protest, already regretting it after Grawp wakes up.
On the way back they are discovered by centaurs. The situation however turns out all right. As Ron approaches Harry and Hermione completely happy about his Gryffindor victory, they decide not to tell him until the next day.
