Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville and Luna reach the Ministry of Magic on the Thestrals. They look out for the Department of Mysteries. Behind the door, of which Harry always dreams, is a round black room. There are doors everywhere with candleholders in between. As the six close the door, the room starts to rotate and stops again. They decide to try every door to find the door in Harry′s dream and Hermione comes up with the idea to mark every door they have already opened with a flaming cross. Behind the second door, there is a kind of amphitheatre with a podium and a big stony archway above, which is hid with a curtain. Harry is attracted by the archway and believes to hear voices behind it. At the fourth door, they finally find the right room. It is full of clocks but the six are only interested in the door at the end of the room. Behind this door is a room with many racks which are filled with dusty glass balls. They quickly find the right row, but there is no Sirius. Ron discovers a glass ball on which is written:
"S.P.T. to A.P.W.B.D.
Dark Lord
and (?) Harry Potter”
Harry picks up the ball and they all look at it curiously, until suddenly a voice behind them requests Harry to hand it over.
