Harry has his first private lesson with Professor Dumbledore.
Dumbledore and Harry use a Pensieve to visit the memory of Bob Ogden, who works for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and follow him to the House of the Gaunts. They see how the son Morfin Gaunt uses magic against a Muggle called Tom Riddle, who later becomes father of Lord Voldemort. Mr Gaunt, grandfather of Voldemort, and his son react in a very hostile manner to Ogden. They speak very highly about their pure blood and that they are the last relatives of Salazar Slytherin. They show their aversion to Muggles. Ogden is jinxed by Morfin at the moment when he decides to help Morfin′s daughter Merope (Voldemort′s mother) against the attack of her father. Shortly afterwards Ogden comes back with reinforcement. Father and son are sent to Azkaban.
