Harry, Hermione and Ginny have to wait until evening to be allowed to visit Ron in the hospital wing. Ron isn′t responsive, but he is alive and healthy. Fred and George bring Ron his birthday present and everybody, including Hagrid, is thinking about who the poison was intended for.
At the arrival of Ron′s parents Harry, Hermione and Hagrid leave the place. Hagrid divulges that Dumbledore and Snape had a row, because Snape doesn′t want to do something Dumbledore intends him to do.
Cormac McLaggen is the replacement Keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. McLaggen has annoyed everyone with his hints for the game. At the match itself he isn’t able to catch any Quaffle and at the end he injures Harry, who is brought to the hospital wing. When Harry wakes up the match is over and lost for Gryffindor. Harry lies next to Ron, who tells him that he heard Luna′s match commentary from the Quidditch pitch. Harry orders Kreacher to tail Draco without being noticed. Dobby also wants to help.
