Harry Apparates himself and Dumbledore back to Hogsmeade. When they arrive, they see the Dark Mark, which was set above the school. Dumbledore and Harry fly back to Hogwarts with brooms that Madame Rosmerta has lent them. They land on the school′s tower, but there is nowhere a sign of a crime. Harry wants to look for Snape so he can heal Dumbledore, but a moment later Malfoy appears on the tower and Dumbledore freezes Harry without any warning. Standing under his Invisibility Cloak it seems like Harry vanishes at once. He sees and hears everything, but he has no possibility to interfere or act somehow.
Malfoy says that he brought the Death Eaters to school, who are fighting against the guardians. Malfoy hesitates to kill Dumbledore and so he is asked how he managed to bring the Death Eaters inside the school. Dumbledore realises that Madame Rosmerta has been cursed with the Imperius curse. Malfoy mentions that someone has already died.
Finally the other Death Eaters arrive at the tower. One of them is Fenrir Greyback. All of them encourage Malfoy to kill Dumbledore at last. Snape appears also and sees that Malfoy isn′t able to kill the headmaster. For this reason he does it himself using the Avada Kedavra curse. Dumbledore falls off the tower.
