Hermione and Harry try to secure the body of Fred with the help of Ron. While doing so Percy starts his hunt for Death Eaters. Hermione is able to stop Ron from following him, because they are the only ones who are able to end this. Harry uses his scar to discover Lord Voldemort′s location: the Shrieking Shack. He tries to get out of the castle with Ron and Hermione passing through the raging battle and running into Dementors which they can only escape with help of Luna, Ernie and Seamus. When they reach the Shrieking Shack through the secret passage under the Whomping Willow, Harry overhears a conversation between Snape and the Dark Lord. He learns that the Elder Wand does not work properly for Voldemort because it was Snape who defeated its previous master. Harry catches the Dark Lord ordering Nagini to kill Snape in order to conquer the wand. When they are finally alone Harry kneels beside the dieing Snape and receives some memories from him.
